Microsoft has finally revealed this year’s summer of arcade line-up:

July 22 – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-shelled (1200 Points) – Ubisoft murders a coin-op classic with “all new 3D graphics”. Hopefully the gameplay remains in the old style classic beat ‘em up style.

July 29 – Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (1200 Points) – Capcom finally plans to release a fighting title on Xbox Live without giving it a bizarrely elongated name. This should be one to look out for if the HD upgrade and Live multiplayer features are handled right.

August 5 – Splosion Man (800 Points) – This is a 2D platformer in 3D graphics about Splosion Man, a man who apparently keeps on exploding. How this will translate into gameplay remains to be seen, but it does come from Twisted Pixel, developers of the surprisingly fun The Maw.

August 12 – Trials HD (1200 Points) – This game is probably the weakest of the bunch and the developers seem to be marketing it as a “physics-based motorcycle racing platformer” and only seems to include two modes. However, the level editor may save it.

August 19 – Shadow Complex (1200 Points) – Epic Games has taken five minutes off making map packs for Gears of War 2 to deliver a Metroidvania/Metal Gear Solid crossover, their first game for XBLA and the only one so far that will probably be given a massive marketing push by Microsoft.
